Home Improvement Projects for Winter
Cozy up your feet
Sitting inside all day makes you notice things throughout your house than could use some TLC. However, those carpets you have may need more than a deep clean vacuuming. Putting new carpet in is a great winter project because it can instantly increase the comfort of your home.
By the time warmer weather gets here, you will be sprinting out of your house for fresh air and the last thing you will want to do is spring cleaning. Take the time you have now to get organized. Devote some time every week to declutter one room/area at a time.
Makeover your Closet
On top of decluttering your house, a great place to start is your closet. If you create a place to put everything, you will be more likely to put things away. You can install shelving, purchase over-the-door shoe racks, and donate all the items that you no longer want.
Give your Bathroom a Facelift
Look at your bathroom. Is your shower outdated? Is the grout gunky and need a hard scrub? Bathrooms are a great winter project because you get to appreciate your handiwork every day. Updating your bathroom such as repainting, re-grouting tile is easy for the D-I-Yer. But don’t be afraid to call a professional for help.
You have been contemplating your neutral colored walls for a few months, and especially now since you are cooped up inside. Brighten your mood by finally repainting. Painting in the winter is great visual stimulation and can dramatically brighten your mood, as well as the entire room. (Be sure to crack a window to let the paint fumes escape!)
Add a “Splash” of Personality to Your Kitchen
To add some spice to your kitchen without breaking the bank, adding a backsplash is a great solution and project for these cold winter weekends.
