Below is a map received from Greenawalt Roofing showing the recent storm that came through Lancaster County where many residents reported hail. Below the map is their explanation of the different markings and coloring on the map.
Here is a map of the storm that came through with the darkest sections having the most amount of hail on the radar – the Blue Drops are homes we have been monitoring for our customers but the Green Lightning shows where 1” hail was confirmed by a spotter and the Purple one is 1.75” hail confirmed by a spotter.
During a hail storm more than just your vehicles are vulnerable to damage. When hail hits, it can damage the roof or covering of your home as well as other personal property. Hail damage would typically be covered under a homeowner’s insurance policy. If you believe your home may have sustained damage from hail, it might not be a bad idea to have a professional come out and take a look.
We have had good experiences with Greenawalt Roofing in the past and they are offering a free hail damage inspection if you would like to take them up on it. They can be reached at 717-898-6000.
